Storytelling lies at the root of my art making. Through individual pieces and serial work, I invoke real and imaginary worlds, people and emotions, objects and places. Through different visual manifestations, I strive to find the universality in our shared human experience.

Digital Metaltype (on copper), 12 x 12 inches
I work in a variety of media—digital, paint, metal, wood, paper, textiles, found objects—because every piece demands its own materials. I am drawn to the juxtaposition unusual images, patterns and color. Additionally, I thrive on experimentation; the act of discovery is at the heart of the joy I feel when I create.
“Spinning Wheels,” wool rug hand-knotted in Nepal according to my design.
In addition to making art and the occasional textile, I am a co-founder and contributor to Venetian Red, a blog through which working artists examine art, the resplendent light that illuminates human civilization.
